Lucy Joyce ARAM, BMus, LRAM, Dip RAM,

Clarinet, Sax, Piano

Lucy Joyce began learning the clarinet at the age of 10 and was soon awarded a place at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. Whilst there she won the Peter Morrison Concerto Competition and performed Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in her final year.

Lucy went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music and whilst there won many competitions, including the Boosey & Hawkes Woodwind Award. She also had the opportunity to perform Finzi & Weber's Clarinet Concerto in London and at the Edinburgh Festival.

After leaving college Lucy was principal clarinettist with the Gustav Mahler Orchestra touring through Europe under world-renowned conductors, such as Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez and Daniele Gatti.

Lucy continued her career in London as a freelance musician, performing in orchestras and chamber music ensembles as well as recording for the BBC.

Lucy is also a well respected teacher and runs her own music school in Surrey called 'Thornbury Music'. Thornbury music has 13 talented teachers and performers working there teaching over 130 children each week. It is a highly regarded music school in the area. Lucy also teaches at some of the local senior schools in Guildford.

Louise Kaiser BA (Hons)

Piano, Saxophone and Clarinet

Louise began learning the piano at the age of 10 quickly followed by the clarinet and saxophone. She studied music at Bath Spa University and studied saxophone under Will Gregory.

Louise has 20 years of teaching experience covering beginners to advanced students, from the very young to more mature.

Although she is classically trained her love of jazz and big band music became evident when she co-founded the ‘Pink But Spotted Jazz Band’ at the age of 17.

Louise moved to Ireland in 1999 and has played with various swing bands including the Route 66 Big Band of which she was Musical Director for 5 years. During her time in Ireland she worked for various music schools and primary schools and also worked as an accompanist for choirs and soloists.

She has recently moved back to West Sussex where she is originally from and is settling back into the local music scene.
