Joanna Hadden BA (Hons) Mus, Dip Mus

Flute, Piano and Voice

Joanna Graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Music.

She has performed at a variety of festivals, shows and local events across West Sussex, Surrey, Bath, Bristol and Somerset. Joanna has also performed at the Barbican Centre in London and for the BBC with James Gallway. She has played flute and piccolo in various orchestras and ensembles for concert performances, operas and musicals as well as solo recitals in competitions, festivals and master classes, taken by William Bennett, Trevor Wye, Robin Solden and Anders Ljungar-Chapelon.

Joanna currently performs as part of the Hadden and Becher flute and guitar duo, founded through collaborations at Thornbury Music Studios.

After completing her Music Degree in Bath, Joanna performed with Trio Mistrale and the Minerva Duo at venues across the South East and South West of the country.

In 2004, Joanna studied voice and Jazz flute and performed as a guest flautist and singer for a Jazz trio and a Folk Rock group as well as singing classical soprano in local choirs, at major venues across the South East and South West.

Joanna has received tuition from various professional flautists over the years, including Nicholas Vallis-Davies, Katey Thomas and Richard Dobson and attended flute performance courses where she received further training from Trevor Wye, Robin Solden, Peter Lloyd and Anders Ljungar-Chapelon.

Joanna's vocal training has been with Ian Gardener, Angela Hobden, Rachel Bickerton and Fiona Shelfer.

Joanna studied piano with Elaine Woodford and Peter Blackwood.

Outside of performing, Joanna has taught flute, voice, piano and clarinet both privately and through County Councils for over 20 years. She has also been involved with Arts Administration, Arts Marketing, Concert Managing and Stage Management for various orchestras, festivals and venues.
