Sebastian Becher


Sebastian graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music with a BA (Hons). He is a performer, teacher, composer and backing vocalist.

Sebastian teaches both Acoustic, Classical and Electric guitar and likes to bring the fun back into learning during his lessons. He teaches both the ABRSM syllabus and the rockschool syllabus. Sebastian has been teaching for many years now at Thornbury Music.

Sebastian has played with several bands including Failure's Art (UK), Songwriter Ro'shan and gospel choir "Joy and Venture" (both Germany). He has recorded tracks for Ro'shan in Berlin and performed his own compositions to audiences in Vancouver, Israel, Germany and the UK.

His musical interests in performance and composition span from classical to blues & rock to jazz. Major influences include: Ty Tabor, Tommy Emmanuel, Antoine Dufour, Pat Metheny and Joe Satriani, as well as J.S. Bach and Arvo Pärt.

Drums and Guitar

Ben studied drums at the Academy of Contemporary Music under Mike Sturgis and Pete Riley. Ben excelled and gained distinctions and won awards for both years in which he studied drums. He was selected to take part in a wide range of masterclasses with visiting artists and professors including Bill Cobham, Chad Smith, Thomas Lang, Carl Palmer, Andy Gangadeen, John Blackwell and Dave Weckl.

Since graduating from the Academy, Ben has gone on to gain valuable live, studio and teaching experience. For the past three years he has worked as a drum teacher in and around London. Work includes one-to-one private tuition, in which he takes students through grades 1-8 and currently holds a 100% pass rate.

As a working musician, Ben has performed at some of the top venues around the UK and Europe including Old trafford football ground and the O2 arena. He has appeared on Radio and TV as his 2006 Band, Carter Brown, released their debut single Say Hello through WCS records and Universal digital distribution

Keith Shilcock


Keith has been teaching guitar, bass & piano for over thirty years. He currently teaches at four schools & is also a working musician. He’s been a backing musician for The Detroit Emeralds, The Trampps, Musique, Percy Sledge, The Floaters, Hazel Dean & The Les Humphries Singers. He now works with a nine piece band on the corporate circuit and also writes & records music.
